It’s Getting Hairy At Horry County Sheriff’s Office
The Horry County Sheriff’s Office participated in “No Shave November” again this year to benefit the Special Olympics of South Carolina. For each $20.00 donation, the men had the option to grow a beard or goatee, and the women donated and wore Special Olympics Torch Run bracelets with their uniform in support.
We extend a big “Thank You” to the Horry County Sheriff’s Office for raising $2,775.00 so far for the Special Olympics!
The vision of Special Olympics South Carolina is to be the leader in lifelong and unified sports programs for individuals with intellectual disabilities. The SCFOP12 supports the program as it benefits special needs children right here in our local community and helps them to celebrate their sportsmanship, teamwork, and lets them know that law enforcement officers are here to kindly serve and protect them.
Much gratitude to Sheriff Thompson for continuing the “No Shave November” fundraising tradition – extending it through to the end of December – so that all of the money raised in December will be donated to Officer KC Canterbury of the Horry County Police Department. KC is also our respected SCFOP Lodge 12 President.
Officer Canterbury suffered a serious medical event while he was on patrol duty November 25th, and he remains hospitalized. We stand alongside our brother in blue and wish him a speedy recovery.
